Asian Comfort Bites: A Virtual Feast With the Cebu Team

Our screen was full of faces and my heart was full of food. Our Cebu Team decided to have a virtual “Asian Comfort Bites” dinner, and even though we were miles apart, it felt like we were sitting around the same long table, passing plates and stories through the camera. Everyone brought their own comfort dish, and together we built a feast online—one screenshot, one bite, one laugh at a time.

All-time favorite adobo—who doesn’t love pork adobo? It’s the kind of dish that doesn’t need an introduction because everyone already has a memory tied to it.

It’s familiar, nostalgic, and endlessly forgiving. Whether it’s salty, tangy, garlicky, saucy, or dry, adobo always tastes like home. It tastes like Sundays, celebrations, rainy afternoons, and quiet nights in.

Pizza and roasted chicken, another all-time favorite—because why choose between cheesy chaos and juicy perfection when you can have both? It’s the kind of combo that says, “Yes, I am absolutely here to ruin your diet and improve your mood,” and honestly, we’re all okay with that.

Coralie’s setup was the ultimate comfort combo. Her veggie samosas looked like little golden parcels of happiness—crisp outside, cozy inside—and that chicken biryani sat beside them like it was ready to fix anyone’s bad mood, all warm spices and fluffy rice. I swear, if screen-grabbing samosas were possible, I’d have stolen one out of pure love.

Last but absolutely not the least, my combo plate showed up like a love letter in food form. Bulalo warmed the soul, butter chicken hugged the heart, and ngohiong added that crunchy happiness that just makes life better. It was basically me saying, “I love you, I support you, and I fully intend to overfeed you,” with a bonus message of, “Prepare yourself… a delicious nap is coming.”

That’s the magic of our virtual dinners—different dishes, same comfort. Thanks, everyone, for showing up with your food (and your stories), for the laughs, and for making the miles feel a little smaller. Until the next team dinner—stay safe, stay full, and keep the comfort food coming.
